Lenset brings a director's viewfinder that knows your glass to iPhone

Vignettes captured from real lenses, the first real zoom control for iPhone and the sun path saved with every capture. $19.99, one time.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 5 October 2026. Eyvin Studios today released Lenset 1.0.8, a director's viewfinder for iPhone built by cinematographer Robin Asselmeyer. Lenset frames shots through the cameras and lenses you'll actually shoot, with vignettes captured from real lens tests, a cinematic zoom control and sun data in every capture.

Frame through the camera you'll actually shoot. Pick a body, a sensor format and a lens. The preview scales to match: frame lines, focal length, coverage ratio. Opens in landscape. Left hand holds, right hand operates, like a real camera.

Vignettes from real lenses. Lenset shows if and how a chosen lens vignettes on your chosen camera and format. Every vignette comes from a lens tested at Ljud & Bildmedia rental house in Stockholm. So far there are vignettes for 335 lenses, and each update adds more.

The first real zoom control for iPhone. Full zoom speed control and a thumb joystick, with zoom curves like the ones found on real zoom controls, so you can zoom the same way you would on set.

Sun data, in every capture. Every capture is tagged with sun data for planning when to shoot, so you can go back when you didn't have time or forgot to check the sun path.

Lenset records 4K video with a timecode overlay. LUTs, vignettes, frame lines and crops are baked in as you shoot, so the clip saves the moment you stop. Version 1.0.8 adds the older ARRI and RED bodies, Arriflex and other film cameras and a long list of new lens sets.

"It started in 2025 with a simple need: a proper zoom control for the iPhone cameras," said Robin Asselmeyer, cinematographer and founder of Eyvin Studios. "Nothing did it the way a real zoom control does, so we built one. From there it grew into a director's viewfinder with lens vignette overlays, so you can see if your lenses match your camera."
